How to estimate take-home pay in Malaysia

Start with gross monthly pay and your worker profile

Enter gross monthly pay, age band, EPF employee status and SOCSO worker type, then enter the monthly PCB deduction. Take-home pay = gross pay − employee EPF − employee SOCSO including any selected LINDUNG 24 JAM contribution − employee EIS − PCB. The calculator uses the linked contribution snapshots; it does not calculate PCB from your salary.

Worked example: RM5,000 gross monthly pay

Using the 13 August 2026 snapshot for a Malaysian employee below 60, statutory EPF, automatic SOCSO category and LINDUNG 24 JAM included: EPF is RM550, employee SOCSO including LINDUNG is RM61.90, and EIS is RM9.90. Entering RM180 PCB gives RM801.80 total deductions and RM4,198.20 take-home pay.

Reconcile the result with your payslip

Employer contributions are separate from salary deductions. The result excludes other payslip deductions and does not separately model allowances, overtime or bonuses. Use the contribution wage and actual PCB amount applicable to your payslip. Worker eligibility, contribution category and the dated source schedules affect the result.
